I love giving gifts, either to myself or my loved ones. I also love skincare and trying out new products on my skin. Browsing the web searching for new eco-friendly brands, I found Kinder Beauty. They claim to be the ‘#1 Clean, Vegan and Cruelty-Free Beauty Box on the market’. Which I thought was a pretty bold statement but it got me curious so I ordered one of these boxes and share with you my experience.
Kinder beauty is was founded by Evanna and Daniella who are conscious consumers and love beauty products. They feel that their love for makeup and their love for the environment can go well together but have found it a struggle to sort out which brands and products are okay to use. According to them, ethical beauty shouldn’t be challenging. Their aim is to find amazing brands and products for their subscribers so they have easy access to amazing and affordable products.
All the founders are all long-time vegan and animal activists, who personally ensure that each chosen beauty product goes through a strict process. This is to guarantee that every product sent has not been tested on animals and doesn't contain any animal ingredients or byproducts.
Kinder Beauty supports several organizations such as ASPCA, Farm Sanctuary, Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation, Catskills Animal Sanctuary, and Compassion Over Killing, and many more and every month, a portion of their profit is donated to one of these organizations.
What is in the box
Each Kinder Beauty box is stuffed with over $75 worth of carefully selected cruelty-free and vegan skincare, makeup, hair-care, and/or accessories. In each box, you will get at least two full-size products and a chance to discover new brands.
My box had:
K Voss NYC Perfecting Potion ($28)
I rarely wear a full face of makeup and a primer like this one is not something I would purchase for myself. However, after trying it, I sometimes use it under my eyebrow and on my cheekbone to give it an extra glow.
Kinder Beauty 2 Eyeshadow Brush set ($20)
I have a few makeup brushes but I sometimes (often) forget to clean them and it is nice to have a few extra on hand. These are nice and soft and each has a different shape, one for blending and one for shading.
Delia Organics the Pout Lip Creme ($20)
I am always very careful with lip products as I am allergic to beeswax which is in almost all lip products. This lip creme is off course vegan so without beeswax and is extremely thick and creamy. My dry lips love it especially with the cold nowadays.
Iby Beauty single eyeshadow ($6)
The one I receive is a rose brown color. I am not sure yet if it fits my skin-tone.
Earth harbor: Glow Juice Refining Enzyme Mask ($40)
After receiving this box, I had to try this exfoliating gel mask right away. I applied it to my skin and left it only for about 5 minutes. Afterward, looked fresh and rejuvenated. The next morning my skin looked even better and it felt incredibly soft. I love this mask.
I absolutely love the face mask and the lip cream. Both were definitely worth the $25,- (plus shipping) I paid for. The total value of the box is about $134,- which means this box is an amazing value for money. Although I am a bit meh about the makeup products I will either continue to use them or give them to a friend.

Going on holiday for a few weeks? No problem, you can easily suspend or cancel your subscription box and turn it back on when you are back. This is also a great option if you first want to finish all your products before you receive a new batch of goodies to try.
The boxes Kinder Beauty uses is made from 100% recycled materials and is both biodegradable and compostable(!). The packing materials used inside the box are also made from 100% recycled materials. Even the ink used to print the logo and designs on the outside of the box is an eco-friendly soy-based ink. So, you don’t have to worry about all the extra waste send to you.
However, individual brands inside of the box sometimes are not quite their yet with their sustainable packaging.
Kinder Beauty ships from the US and offers free shipping to everyone one the continental US. However, if you are not based in the US, like me, they offer very reasonable shipping costs. For only $5,95 this subscription box is shipped worldwide. This is what got me over the line to try out this subscription box as some tend to have shipping costs higher than the value of the products.
Kinder Beauty is a transparent sustainable subscription box company that can introduce you to new products and brands you might have missed otherwise. Their boxes can give you an awesome surprise to look forward to each month and their limited boxes are a great option for people who are just starting out on their sustainability journey. It can also be an amazing gift if you don’t know what exactly to get for the person but you know they like self-care. So if you want to try one, KinderBeauty is definitely a great all-around sustainable option.
