30 under $15 Sustainable Stocking Stuffers

The holidays are near which for most of us is a challenging time. Creating a nice meal, and finding fun and thoughtful gifts that are also sustainable is a challenge. Therefore, I have made a list with over 30 sustainable stocking stuffers to give you some inspiration on what to give your loved ones. The best part? All these gifts are under $15!
Bathroom
Face rounds $12
Reusable face rounds are such an easy and affordable first step towards a zero waste lifestyle. I often give these to lady friends to stimulate them to reduce their waste. Several materials exist but for this one, you won’t have to choose!
Luffa $10
A natural luffa is not only a great alternative to plastic ones, but it also makes a great gift. It is great to scrub your legs to make them extremely soft while also preventing ingrown hairs. When it is completely worn out you can simply compost it as it is a plant-based product.
Bar of soap $8
A bar of fancy soap is a great gift as washing your hands frequently is important. So, why not wash your hands with a nice soap that smells amazing and is very gentle on the skin of your hands?
Shampoo bar $15
Shampooing with a shampoo bar is a little different from liquid shampoo but it is well worth the reduced amount of plastic consumption. There are lots of choices out there so you will have no problem finding one for your hair type.
Conditioner Bar $15
A conditioner bar is a more advanced zero waste gift as it takes some getting used to. A few years ago conditioner bars weren’t that great. Luckily the conditioner bars nowadays are amazing and will make a great sustainable stocking stuffer for your loved ones.
Body Lotion Bar $12
Just like shampoo bars, there are also lots of body lotion bars. These bars are solid but melt in your hands because of your body temperature. There are bars made with cocoa butter, mango butter, or even avocado butter. Some are even made without animal products so they are a great gift for your vegan friend.
Face Mask $14
Skincare is very personal and not something I usually give but a face mask is not a leave-on product making it easier to give. Make sure you know the skin type of the receiver so you can pick something that suits their skin.
Vegan lip balm $9
1.000.000.000 disposable lipstick plastic tubes are discarded each year, ending up in landfills and our oceans. Go for a sustainable alternative like this vegan lip balm. This is not only zero waste it is also great at protecting your lips against the upcoming cold winter days.
Organic Hair ties $15
It is estimated that 20,000 pounds of hair elastics are created in the US every day. Regular hair ties are made from petroleum and will never break down. These will end up polluting our waterways and hurting marine life. These hair ties are 100% plastic-free and biodegradable! Made from GOTS-certified organic cotton and natural rubber. Who doesn’t love chocolate? A gift that can be consumed is a great gift for someone who already has everything. Choose chocolate that is organic and fair trade so you are sure that the people making your chocolate were treated fairly.
Beeswax wraps $15
Beeswax wraps are great to cover food leftovers with. If you are vegan and don’t want to use beeswax as it is an animal-related product, you are in luck. There are more and more versions available that are made with plant-based wax.
Bowl covers $7,50
Do you like the idea of a beeswax wrap but would you like something easier to work with and not as difficult to re-wax, go for a bowl cover as this one can go in the washing machine.
Reusable straw $4
Do you have a friend or family member with kids? Then reusable straws are an awesome gift. It is estimated that more than 500 million single-use plastic straws are thrown away every day in the U.S. alone so it is time for something more sustainable.

A tea strainer is awesome for a frequent tea drinker. By avoiding tea bags you avoid consuming microplastics that may be present in tea bags.
French Press $15
A french press is great to make zero waste coffee. Next to your favorite black beverage, it can also be used for other beverages. Tea is the most common one but a French press can also be used to make your plant-based milk. So if you know someone who likes all, a french press makes a nice present.
On the go
Bamboo utensil set $15
A bamboo utensil set is easy to have in your bag at all times so you can refuse disposable cutlery when offered to you at work, at a party, or on the road.
Reusable bag $12
I always have a tote bag in my purse for those surprise grocery shopping sprees. Go for one that is made with organic cotton and made by people who are treated with respect.
Glass water bottle $12,50
A glass water bottle is also a zero waste essential for on go. Choose a bottle that is plastic free to avoid drinking micro-plastics. There are more and more locations where you can refill your bottle even saving you lots of money and plastic in the long run.
Insulated coffee mug $13
If you or a friend prefers a warm drink on the go. An insulated water bottle might be a good investment to keep your beverage warm when you are out and about.
Other
Seeds $15
Flowers have a huge carbon footprint because they are often produced far away. By giving someone seeds you give them a great hobby and they can enjoy the flowers from these seeds much longer compared to flowers in a vase.
NoteBook $11
Even though we live in a digital world, a lot still prefer to use pen and paper. This notebook is made in the USA from 100% post-consumer recycled paper and printed with soy ink.
Vegan candles $12
Back in the day animal fat was used to make candles. Although this is a great way to use a waste product, it doesn’t smell very nice. These candles are made from 100% vegan and non-toxic soy wax with scents of cashmere rose, oud, and sandalwood. They are hand-poured into apothecary-inspired glass amber jars with a Kraft paper label and brass lid making it an amazing sustainable stocking stuffer.

Making candles is not only great for kids, but it is also a great sustainable gift idea for grown-ups. No need for melting or using molds as you simply roll a sheet of sweet-smelling, high-quality beeswax around the organic hemp wick and place it atop your table.
Socks
Giving clothing as a gift is hard as taste is very personal but socks we all wear and are less sensitive to size. Choose socks made from organic cotton as this is best for not only our planet but also the people making your socks.
Kids

Kids love crayons but unfortunately, these are often petroleum-based. Not these crayons. These eco-crayons are made with beeswax and mineral pigments making them safe for even the smallest kids.
